Re: Moving this forum: yes or no?
I think that, even if Kaney makes it back, moving to our own forum and website is a grown up and eminently sensible thing to do, and shows how we've matured as a clan. It also removes any future single points of failure. None of us saw this coming and it's got us on the back foot, so to speak.
The forum is up, in its totally vanilla state, with no structure or permissions set. All I need now is the go-ahead to buy the domain, and within 48 hours we'll have our own website and forum.
Should add - Kaney, of course, has full admin rights to everything on his return.

We have no way of moving stuff in bulk, but with some help <hint hint> we can re-create the important sticky threads, and original video posts etc. The forum code is the same, so you can copy any old post and re-post on the new forum and it'll just work.

Re: Moving this forum: yes or no?
http://87.106.102.39/enigmaclan/forum/ is the vanilla site. If i've figured this correctly, no-one should see the member stuff, but you should all see the public stuff (though there's virtually no content there).
Once someone has verified the only public is listed, can you register there, please, and we can make sure the registration process works ok.

Sorted. Replaced the out-of-the-box captcha with reCaptcha, which most users can handle.
Sendmail now working and tested, but a test on registration would be good.
Col Bogey going to have a look at making the style 'ours', so ignore other style quirks, we'll iron them out in time.

I won't....but what does that mean: Admins? What can and can't we do? And, on a related topic (but maybe on TS?): HOW?

Admin on the forum has permissions to do just about everything except delete the entire forum. You can authorise users, edit/delete posts, ban users, etc.
once logged in, click on the Administration Control Panel (ACP) link at the footer of the page; you'll have to log in again, but once in *here be dragons*...

Re: Moving this forum: yes or no?
OK....well, that's the kind of job that I think eventually needs to be done by someone else than the DepComs.
The guys calling the shots in the Clan (up to a certain degree and till our Bossman returns) should not be the same guys as those who command the forum. Maybe we need one DepCom in the background to accept rookies and in case things really get out of hand, but that should be about it.
So after the transfer, my job as a Forum Admin is up for grabs......
